We bring our fundamentals, governance, and technical AI safety courses to universities and research centers. We have already done this at Centro Geo and at UADY's School of Mathematics.

VIGÍA is the open resource for anyone researching AI governance and digital sovereignty in Mexico: an observatory of the Diario Oficial de la Federación (Mexico's federal Official Gazette) that flags AI mentions, regulatory gaps, and risks.
It works as a database, a methodology, and a starting point for papers, policy briefs, or investigative journalism.
AI Safety Mexico's residency program with Universidad Politécnica de Yucatán, designed for students who want to move from courses to working with the team on a concrete project.

The next event is the Mexico Tech Week panel. The rest of the agenda — working sessions on the first Friday of each month, workshops, and pre-talks — lives on Luma. Pre-talks and talks from the Global South AIS Hackathon are on our YouTube channel.
We join forces with academic groups and labs to co-develop research projects on AI safety and alignment, with an emphasis on questions relevant to Mexico.
We participate as speakers, panelists, and advisors at events, working sessions, and conversations on AI governance in Mexico.
Collaborations
Courses, events, and research we could not have done alone. These are the partnerships we have built over the past year.
With ENAIS we ran two courses: one on AI governance and one technical AI-safety course. VIGÍA also came out of that collaboration and received a Special Recognition at AI Safety Collab 2025.
Mexico partner for the Global South AIS Hackathon: hubs in Mérida and Guadalajara, remote participation, and a path into the Apart fellowship. 65 attendees, 19 projects, one of which continued into the fellowship.
Two collaborations in Mérida: the Cursor Mérida Challenge — AI Safety Edition — during the Global South, and the AI Strategy workshop (AGI Strategy Build Day) with Universidad Politécnica de Yucatán.
We received a BlueDot Impact grant to run the panel “Impulsando la comunidad de AI Safety en México: Tech Policy Panel” (growing the AI safety community in Mexico) as part of Mexico Tech Week.
