Projects

In-house and collaborative initiatives that reflect the work of AI Safety Mexico across applied research, governance, and community.

What we mean by project

Applied research with a public purpose

Projects at AI Safety Mexico emerge at the intersection of three conditions: a concrete question about AI safety or governance, a technical team able to address it with rigor, and a commitment to making findings public. Some begin as theses from training cohorts; others as collaborations with partner organizations. All are auditable, open, and oriented toward producing knowledge useful to those who research, regulate, or deploy AI in Mexico.

How we choose

Selection criteria

A project joins the portfolio when it meets all three of the following conditions.

  • A concrete question

Every project starts from an investigable question about AI safety or governance — not from a technology in search of a problem.

  • Technical capacity

The team — in-house or partnered — has the training and resources to address the question with methodological rigor.

  • Commitment to openness

Findings, materials, and code are published openly whenever the nature of the work allows.
